Moritz Engel (*2000) is a product designer and photographer, currently based in Berlin, Germany and Lausanne, Switzerland. His portfolio encompasses a broad spectrum of work with a specialisation in objects and accessories for lifestyle, outdoor and sports sectors.
Driven by an expressive aesthetic, Moritz’s work includes accessories, everyday objects, mobility solutions, furniture and speculative concepts, as well as a focus on material, production, circularity, and sustainability. His projects maintain a playful approach, an expression of his belief that things should have their own-distinct personality.
Since 2022, Moritz has been a scholar of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes). In 2023, he exhibited at the Ambiente trade fair in Frankfurt as part of the “Ambiente Talents” program.
He completed his Bachelor’s degree in “Design in the Digital Society” at the Braunschweig University of Art (HBK) in early 2024.
He graduated in June 2026, the Master’s in Product Design at ECAL (École Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne). For his Master’s thesis, he developed more sustainable and repair-friendly climbing shoes.
